Life coaching is about expanding the boundaries of your comfort zone and relearning to trust.
The purpose of our coaching sessions would be to develop and implement strategies to help you reach your personally identified goals of enhanced performance and personal satisfaction. My coaching may address a wide variety of goals including but not limited to specific personal projects, life balance, relationship satisfaction, or general conditions in your life, business, or profession.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING VS. PSYCHOTHERAPY:
I am a mental health professional who is trained to help you learn new skills and make significant behavior changes. I want you to understand that my life coaching services are completely separate from the therapy services that I offer.
As your coach, I am here to offer skills in the areas of communication, problem-solving, and behavior change. I do this through my service called “Alana Gissen Life Coaching”, in which you would see me for support in making decisions and implementing them, in order to achieve goals that you decide for yourself.
In addition to me being a coach, I am also a clinical psychotherapist with training and experience in diagnosing and treating emotional and psychological problems. Although there are some similarities between coaching and psychotherapy, I will not conduct psychotherapy with my coaching clients. These are different activities, and it is important that you understand the differences between them.
Although both coaching and psychotherapy use knowledge of human behavior, motivation, behavioral change, and interactive counseling techniques, there are major differences in the goals, focus, and level of professional responsibility.
As your coach, my job is to help you to take information and skills that you already have and
To make decisions about which changes you would like to achieve (including list of coaching targets/goals)
To develop a personal “action plan” in order to make those changes
To implement your action plan and make the behavioral changes
To develop strategies to maintain the changes you have made.
You will be encouraged to set the agenda for your coaching, and your success will depend on your willingness to define and take risks and try new approaches. You can expect me to be honest and direct, asking straightforward questions and using challenging techniques to help you move forward.

You will be asked to provide prepayment to schedule and reserve your appointment time/date. Pepayment via venmo or cash app is required to reserve your scheduled appointment time and date.
